Should you not appear within this timescale Irvine Cycles reserve the right to withhold the deposit paid.  After dropping your bike in, work on your bike may not start on the day you drop cycle instore, however it will be assessed & any components required that are not held in stock will be ordered.  On cycle servicing we aim to have your cycle repaired within 3-7 working days. On receipt of the bike, we will indicate approx how long your particular job will be in the workshop for. Balance payable on completed job.  Please help us by removing any equipment on your bike such as pannier bags, security locks etc before bringing your bike to our workshop. You can book your repair in to our workshop from the comfort of your own home. Our workshop can be very busy, especially in the summer months. Although you are welcome to drop your bike instore without notice, booking in your repair can get you to the front of the queue & a quicker "turnaround". It also helps us as we will have an idea of what specific service you wish, and also gives us a "heads up" as to the potential issues you have with your bike.

Please Note :  To complete your cycle service it may be you will require some replacement parts to ensure a roadworthy and functional bike

A new service option for the rider that wants unparalleled chain lubrication. By ticking this option an extra £10 will be added to your final bill.

Wether this be a new drivechain fitted during your service or your original chain, Irvine Cycles bike technicians will independantly dip your drivechain in Finish Lines revolutionary new Halo premium hot wax technology. Prior to dipping in the hot wax your drivechain will have been deep cleaned to ensure all existing grease, dirt and lubricant are completely removed, only when fully dried post cleaning will we undertake the waxing process. These steps are essential to provide the best results.

Please note : We would only recommend this service to new chains or original drivechains that are in good order. On new quality chains, we would expect good results for around 450km if riding in fair/dry weather conditions.  If you ride frequently in wet weather conditions we would recommend using a dedicated wet weather lubricant rather than this hot wax procedure.

Here is an overview of the benefits you would gain by having your chain fully immersed in Halo wax lubricant :

UNPARALLELED CHAIN LUBRICATION

Since 1988, Finish Line® has dedicated itself to advancing the science of bicycle lubrication. Our HALO™ range represents our greatest achievement involving the tribology of reducing drivetrain friction and mechanical wear.

HALO® HOT WAX chain lubricant is engineered to dramatically improve drivetrain performance in all riding conditions. It reduces friction and wear caused by abrasive contaminants and provides advanced water resistance over long relubrication intervals.

KEY POINTS

Low coefficient of friction
Maximum chain cleanliness
Advanced water resistance
Improved drivetrain efficiency
Ultra-low chain and component wear for extended component life
Extreme pressure resistance for maximum power output under high torque pedalling
Extended intervals between relubrication
Reduced chain vibration and noise

PERFORMANCE INGREDIENTS

HIGHLY REFINED PARAFFIN - creates a robust, dry-to-the-touch coating that repels water, sheds friction-causing abrasive contaminants, and helps eliminate chain stains.
SPHERICAL TUNGSTEN - features a proprietary hollow core to help reduce vibrational friction caused by high torque pedalling. Micron–sized and spherical shape helps reduce sliding friction by creating a rolling effect on the surface of the chain.
CERAMIC - boron nitride platelets cover the chain to form a protective non-stick coating. This ceramic coating works synergistically with spherical tungsten to substantially reduce wear and help extend the life of drivetrain components .
