Retail Assistant / Cycle Technician

Applicant will have good communications skills, a strong work ethic within the workpIace, Irvine Cycles are a small family run cycle shop who have been selling and repairing cycles since 1967. The owners have seen most things in the bike trade having operated cycle shops in Glasgow, Ayr, Cumnock, Saltcoats, Kilmarnock & Irvine. For many years we have solely traded out of our Irvine location, we have continued to grow our business and have established strong partnerships with some of the top brands around. We have also seen our workshop services expand & advance, as such we have invested in the highest calibre of tools & equipment to keep up with modern technology & components found on the most up to date cycles.

Hours :

16 hours PW to start,  with the opportunity of more hours. 

Candidate must be flexible, be able to work weekends on request. 

Job Overview :

 Applicants would preferably have an interest & passion for cycling & at minimum have basic proficiency on servicing of pedal cycles. The successful applicant should also have keyboard skills & be prepared to undertake admin/office work when the need arises.

Responsibilities and Duties :

Engage with customers & be able to communicate in a positive & passionate manner, backed up by product knowledge in the services and brands provided by Irvine Cycles.
Repair & Service Cycles, from the most basic type to the most advanced type including electric bikes. (although previous experience may be advantageous and any qualifications/certification will be welcomed, this is not essential as  industry recognised training will be provided.
Successful applicant will also be responsible for keeping a tidy & organized workplace, which will include maintaining tools and equipment.
Use your own initiative, work well without supervision & be able to problem solve.
